Hi I'm Jared Clark

I am a Christian.

About Me

I am a husband and father, a musician, a law student, and a student of the scriptures. I enjoy family activities of all sorts, exercise, and meeting new people and having new experiences.

Why I am a Mormon

Because it is better to have two eyes than one. Let me explain. With two eyes a person can see in three dimensions. With one eye a person can see in only two dimensions. God has restored his church in these calamitous latter days and has provided another witness to Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon, to work alongside the Bible, so that we may see more clearly and navigate more skillfully with the additional testament of an ancient Christian nation which experienced challenges very much like our own. Further, anyone may gain a divine witness as to the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon by faithful and sincere prayer to God. As when Peter proclaimed the divinity of Christ, not because "flesh and blood hath...revealed it unto [him], but my Father which is in heaven [revealed it]” (Matt. 16:15–17), so can I say that I know of the divine origin of Christ and the additional witness of the Book of Mormon - because my Father which is in heaven has revealed it unto me.

How I live my faith

I spend quite a bit of time pondering the nature of truth and how I can bring my life more in line with sound principles and good uplifting practices. I have found that my faith in Jesus Christ has brought me closer to these ends than any other means. But even more than that, I have gained a further witness of the divinity of Jesus Christ by trying his promise that 'if If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself” (John 7:17).

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Jared Clark
Can anyone deny the imperfection of men? Have you ever considered whether an imperfect thing can produce perfection? Reason dictates that it cannot, but it appears to us that a perfect thing could most certainly take an imperfect thing and raise it to perfection. In short, we need help from something greater than ourselves. Fortunately, that something greater exists. The way has been provided by a perfect God who condescended to our level to lift us back up with him to perfection, if we would follow Him. This is Christ. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Jared Clark
It is their personal witness, which they add to many others, that Christ is the Savior of the world, and that he has restored his church in these latter days. See "How does making right choices help us make more right choices" below. Show more Show less
