Hi I'm Taylor

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father of three children. I am also a dentist and an avid outdoorsman.

Why I am a Mormon

I have learned through sincere prayer that God answers prayers. Through prayer I have learned that God has restored His church on the earth. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Through prayer all people can learn that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that by following his example we can return to live with Him after this life. The Church of Jesus Christ has taught me that if we follow the commandments of God we have the potential to live eternally with our families. Happiness in this life is found in patterning our lives after our Savior Jesus Christ Being Mormon has been the one of the greatest blessings In my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to follow Jesus Christ. As a family we make an effort to read the scriptures (The Bible and The Book of Mormon) together each day, to pray together, to learn together. We enjoy attending church on Sundays. We also enjoy doing many other outdoor activities together. The Church of Jesus Christ also provides many service opportunities that allow our family to be helpful in our communities and neighborhoods.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a volume of scripture, similar to the Bible. It was written by ancient prophets who lived on the American continent. Like biblical prophets, the prophets of the Book of Mormon testified of Jesus Christ and looked forward to his coming. They believed in having faith in Him and in His atoning sacrifice for our sins. The Book of Mormon gives an account of Jesus Christ's visit to the people of the America's shortly after his resurrection. Just as He did in Jerusalem, Jesus Christ taught the people His gospel and invited them to follow Him. The Book of Mormon goes hand in hand with the Bible. Through reading these scriptures we can come closer to Him. The Book of Mormon gives a promise to all people that those who read it and sincerely ask God in prayer if it is true, can know of it's truthfulness by the power of the Holy Ghost Moroni 103-5. Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

One definition listed for ‘cult’ in Webster’s Dictionary is “a religion regarded as unorthodox.” Since the roots of Mormonism are not a break off from the Catholic or Protestant churches, it is seen by some as “unorthodox.” For example, the LDS definition of the Godhead differs from the Nicene Creed accepted by most Catholic or Protestant churches. The “cult” label is usually applied by Church opponents attempting to criticize or discredit the Church. However, sometimes it’s simply a matter of characterization that has grown up over time by the lack of understanding. Such misunderstandings often vanish when people begin to realize the commonality of what The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints really teaches and believes. That Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that He is the Savior and Redeemer of the world whom we love and worship. When people begin to see and recognize these things about Mormons, then their opinion of the Church usually changes, and old beliefs are replaced with new understanding. Show more Show less
