Hi I'm Jacob

I am a father, a software engineer, an organist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was married almost ten years ago while going to college, and I love my wife more than ever. I have two daughters and a toddler son now, and I try to be the best father that I can for them. For my profesional career, I am a software engineer. Programming computers has always been a hobby of since I was ten, so I enjoy doing that for a living. I also have a love for all kinds of music. I have played the piano since I was very young, I also play the organ, and wherever I have lived, I have been the church organist for my church. I am currently trying to learn the electric guitar also for fun. :)

Why I am a Mormon

My parents have been Mormons all of their lives, but still, I am Mormon by choice. My parents encouraged me to read the Book of Mormon when I was a teenager. From that book I learned how to apply the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. This has changed my life, and I have become a better person at home, at work, and at church by trying to follow the example of the Savior. I know that God does answer prayers, and that he will guide us in all aspects of our life. I also know that God does forgive us when we sincerely try to correct the mistakes in our life. The gospel of Jesus Christ brings unspeakable peace in my life and great happiness even in the low points of my life.

How I live my faith

My most important duty I feel is to try to be the best father that I can for my kids. Ten years ago I was more concerned with computers than having a family. After my first daughter was born I eventually realized that I was wasting time at home too often on my computer and not spending enough time with my family, teaching my kids from the scriptures more and I felt that I was not being a good example. Ever since then I have tried to make less time for unimportant things and more time with my family. At church, I have always enjoyed being able to use my talents to provide the music for church meetings. To me, music is a very important part of worship. It allows us to express our faith in the words of a hymn, and also helps us keep our minds focussed on what is most important.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

If you have faith in Jesus Christ, then you believe and have a hope in your heart that he really made it possible for you to repent of your sins and you can become clean, and you can eventually become as he is. This faith therefore drives me to be a better father, a better husband, a better son, and a better friend. It motivates me to apologize to my wife when I do something to upset her, and it increases the love I have for her and my children. Show more Show less
