Hi I'm Phillip

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an optometrist. I am married with seven children, and one grandson. I love to backpack in the mountains and try out new food recipes I see on cooking shows. Our family enjoys road trips exploring places we have not seen in the United State and elsewhere.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon helps me better understand Jesus Christ. I know I am happier, have a better marriage and happier family when I understand my relationship with Jesus and follow His teachings. There is no question in my mind that true happiness comes from living the principles taught by Jesus Christ and serving my family and others in my community.

How I live my faith

I have recently been the bishop of our local congregation (called a ward). Our ward has approximately 350 members. It has been a rewarding experience administering the organizational and spiritual affairs of the members of our ward. My three oldest children have served missions teaching people about Jesus Christ. They have been in France, Chile and Estonia.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Joseph Smith founded the Mormon Church. In the early 17th century, during a time of religious upheaval, this teenage boy received an answer to a humble prayer that lead to the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The organization which followed has the same organization and authority that existed in the church Jesus Christ established when He lived on the earth. Show more Show less
