Hi I'm Deanna Rae

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I teach high school and am excited to start summer. I am married to a former soldier who served two deployments in Iraq. He's retired from the army and is expanding his education.

Why I am a Mormon

I have prayed about whether or not Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ and then whether or not the Book of Mormon was translated by Joseph Smith with the inspiration of Heavenly Father. As I have lived the principles taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have been happy. My life and situation is beyond what I would have EVER imagined. I am happiest when I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

My husband and I serve by teaching the 18 month to 3 yr old class. Our lessons are simple and sometimes aren't the most quiet, but it never fails to feel the Holy Spirit as we teach these young ones about how much their Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love them.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Deanna Rae
Church services begin with a large group meeting similar to a mass where we take the sacrament and members of the congregation are invited to speak on a particular topic. After Sacrament meeting, Sunday School is held where members are divided by age group and or course of study. Children from 18 mos. to 11 years go to primary where they have sharing time where members of the primary are invited to share scriptures and talks (the children give talks to each other) and then attend an age appropriate sunday school class. Teens 12-17 attend Youth classes and divide into the Young Women's group and Young Men's group. Adult men and women have a variety of topics that are offered. Most congregations have a Gospel principles class and a Gospel doctrine class. Gospel principles is a conceptually based class where Gospel doctrine focuses on scripture. This year we're studying the old testament. The third hour of our meeting is when the Men and Women split and discuss gospel topics from the unique perspective of our peers. Visitors are ALWAYS welcome. You are always welcome to attend church. I feel like our congretation is warm and welcoming. Show more Show less
