Hi I'm Craig Rider

I'm a Mormon; student; disciple of Christ; Son of God.

About Me

Having grown up in Florida I have had many unique opportunities. I have spent a great deal of my time in and around the water. Whether in the ocean, on the beach, or in the pool I have developed a great love for the water. I am currently a student at BYU-Idaho studying Communications. It is one of my dreams to be one of the worlds best in the field of leadership training and development. Until then I work a part-time job to get myself through school. I am an avid sports fan of all kinds. And where I can't take a ball of some kind, I always have a book replace it. I have been asked in the past what my top five passions are and i have come to list them as the Gospel of Jesus Christ, family, life long education, the principal of work, and the art of creation. I am a young "single" adult and have found that even in a turbulent culture there can be peace in my heart so long as I keep the Lord Jesus Christ in the center of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Originally you could say that I am a Mormon because I was born in it. But it did not take long before I had to make a choice for myself if I was to follow after the faith of my parents or go a different path. Ultimately it was my choice and I have never regretted it. I am a Mormon simply because I have felt the witness of the Holy Spirit bear witness to me that Jesus is the Christ. That he and His Father came to the earth to restore the Gospel that they have taught through ancient prophets to the boy prophet, Joseph Smith. And that the Book of Mormon, and all other scriptures that have come by way of these most recent prophets of this church, are true. Over time these things have been made more clear to me, and new things have been added upon them, but these are the core principals that I believe in and know to be true.

How I live my faith

I believe in living my faith the way that Jesus Christ did: by "going about doing good." I believe in and do my best to practice such things as "Do a good turn daily," asking the question "What would Jesus do?" and I believe that I am indeed responsible to a certain degree for others well being and happiness. I go to church on a weekly basis, do my best to learn from others, and keep my heart open to "the convictions of the Holy Spirit." And as a young single adult I do my best to be a steady source of light in a rather unsteady period of life.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Craig Rider
Yes it is true. And as everything else in the Savior's life and ministry it is miraculous. The story is filled with many of the same teaching that are found in the Bible. Many of them with added explanation from the Savior himself. Within those chapters (3 Nephi 11-30) are found miraculous experiences with the Master. Stories and results of conversion from those who heard, saw, and bore witness of his ministry to the ancient Americans. With all of my heart I would invite you to read those passages. Especially if you have not done so before. For within them not only will you read of those people whose lives were touched, but yours will be as well. Of this I know because it has been my experience as well. And it is within those pages that life has taken on a new meaning for me. Show more Show less
