Hi I'm Jenni

I have a deep love for chocolate milk and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from college with a degree in political science, married a great guy, moved across the country, and had three kids. I do not run or scrapbook. I used to play the flute. I wish I had more time read great books and take more photos, but, man, taking care of three kiddos takes up most of my time! Good thing I like them.

Why I am a Mormon

I never knew how valuable knowing the principles of the gospel are until I had children. I am so grateful that I have answers for my kids when they ask me those hard questions like: "Why are we here on earth?" "Where do we go when we die?" "Why do bad things happen to good people?" I love having clear-cut standards to teach my children and to live by myself. It makes such a difference to have a community of friends that live by these same standards as well. But mostly, I am a Mormon because it feels right. I feel in my heart that the teachings of the church are the gospel of Jesus Christ. It just feels good and makes me happy.

How I live my faith

I teach a religion class to teenagers every morning at 6 am! Wow, it's hard to get up that early, but I have really learned a lot more about the church while studying the scriptures and preparing lessons every day. And I love the youth I teach.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

No. We are encouraged to study the current political issues and candidates, pray about our decision, and vote and be involved in politics in the way we feel is best. Occasionally the church will speak out on moral issues, but not on candidates or political parties. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

I feel like I've always had faith in God and an understanding that he exists. When I look at this world, it seems impossible to me that it could just come to be out of coincidence and the more I study and observe this world, the more evidence I see of a divine hand in its creation. The first time I felt like I knew that God existed though, was when I got to see my first child for the first time. I looked in to her eyes, I knew I was looking at a spirit who had existed before that moment, and that I was having the privilege of meeting one of God's children. She was not just my husband's and my child; she belonged to someone else as well. As I have raised my children I have begun to feel how deep a parent's love can be. I have come to understand, not just God's existence, but also his love for his children, and his love for me. Show more Show less
