Hi I'm Brenley

I live in Washington but have lived in every corner of the U.S. I am a mother of three toddlers. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoyed a full life of learning and service as a single individual. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Communications and a Master's Degree in Public Administration. I served as a Mormon missionary in Guatemala and also returned to Central America (El Salvador and Guatemala) to participate in humanitarian-aid work. Now I am in a new stage as a busy wife and mother. I continue to look for ways to use my talents and skills to bless my family and those around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the LDS Church in a large family. It was expected of us to follow the teachings our parents taught about the Church. I wanted to know for myself if what they were teaching was true. I did what the Book of Mormon teaches: ask God if these things are true. If you ask with a "sincere heart and with real intent," you can know for yourself. I did that--I did it several times to be sure. I read. I prayed. I knew without a doubt that what I felt in my heart was that everything I had been taught was true. I love that about the Church. Every person is encouraged to know for oneself that the Church is true, that to be baptized is God's will, that to follow its teachings will bring happiness now and forever.

How I live my faith

I try hard to be an example for good. There is enough in the world keeping us down that I want to do what I can to lift others up. In my community I have started a free music class where parents and children can participate and find joy through music. I have participated in a community choir and have also led a choir at church. I have started a mother's group where we discuss how to be better mothers and better women in a world that doesn't always make it easy. I have spent a lot of time working with Spanish-speaking members of the Church, helping and teaching them and learning from them. My life is happiest when I am serving others.
