Hi I'm Jeremiah

I'm a husband, father and college student. I'm a digital native and I have OCD. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband to the most wonderful woman who somehow puts up with me. We haven't been married for very long, but it seems like I've always been with her. We have a beautiful baby girl who seems to have a limitless supply of energy and definitely keeps us going. I'm currently going college and working, hoping to be done with school soon. I have also lived with obsessive-compulsive disorder for a large portion of life. It didn't really show up until I was teenager and wasn't very serious then, but within the past year or two it started to become increasingly worse until simple things like going to the store or attending class or even just getting ready for the day took an incredible amount of effort. I have become much better at handling my OCD over the past few months, thanks in part to my understanding wife, supportive parents and my testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ and His Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church of God in our time. I was actually born into the church, meaning that both of my parents are members. I was baptized a member of the church on my eighth birthday and remained active until I served as a missionary in the China Hong Kong Mission. During this time, unaware that it was happening, I actually was gaining a testimony that the church and everything that goes with it - The Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, prophets, angels, revelation, personal relationships with God our Heavenly Father - was all true. Without realizing it, I had done exactly what the Savior had counseled in John 717, to live the commandments and know that they are from God. By living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I came to know it was true and that testimony has carried me ever since.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be like the Savior as best I can. I know full well that I'm an imperfect person as I'm shown my weaknesses every single day, but I also know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is there to help each and every one of us face our weaknesses and become better people. I love to find ways to serve others. I love doing things for my wife to make her smile. I feel very happy inside when she smiles because of something I did for her. I also spend time playing with my daughter, or just being there with her while she plays with her own toys so that I can show my love for her. I do my best every day to be the best husband and father I can because I want to be a good person. I want to be someone that does good.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

This is probably one of the topics I consider the most personal to me. Put simply, the way we come to know our Father in Heaven is the same way we come to know anyone else - through constant, meaningful communication. Show more Show less
