Hi I'm Allen

I was born and raised in Washington State. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have three children. I work at a local elementary school and also interpret locally for Spanish speakers. I love languages of all types, but focus on languages of the Indo-European language family. I enjoy reading the Book of Mormon in different languages. I am also interested in history, geography, world affairs and the sciences. I enjoy classical music and I love playing on the piano.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints make sense to me, because the spiritual experiences I have as a result of my membership and activity in the church make my life a great deal better and because those spiritual experiences indicate to me that the scriptures are true and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be good to other people and stay close to God. I am currently serving as the finance clerk in our congregation, assisting the leader of the congregation. I visit a few families in our congregation monthly when possible, along with my 14 year-old son. My wife and I try to spend one evening a week as a family, talking about the teachings of the scriptures or having fun.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

One of the main things that tells me there is a God is the love I feel from him when I pray. I also see how he has blessed me and my family as I try to do what's right. When I read the scriptures, I feel close to God and find my mind enlightened. The feeling I have as I read them and the truths they contain tell me the scriptures are true. I know that if they are true, then God lives and loves us. Show more Show less
