Hi I'm Mary

I am a wife. I am the mother of 9. A transplant mom. A people lover and happiness seeker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I was young my dream was to study hard and join NASA. I could not imagined anything as amazing as going out in space. I love the stars, the science and the unknown. As I matured I learned more about life and living it. I realized that what I really wanted was to raise a family that I can live with forever. I want to teach them all about our Father in Heaven who created the universe and all that is in it. I am now the mother of 9 wonderful children and 7 grandchildren. We have enjoyed many wonderful experiences as we seek to follow our Heavenly Fathers will for us. My daughter Corinna required 3 transplants in her life. Through this 12 year experience I saw the hand of God in my life as he provided anwsers to prayer, love, comfort, strength and direction. At the age of 16 my beautiful daughter returned to live with Our Father in Heaven. I know that she is well and safe. I imagine her dancing free of all her earthly care. I know that the Lord gave me this experince to make me stronger. To teach me to trust in him. All of my trials help me grow my faith. I know that I will see my daughter again. I want to do all I can in this life so that I can be worthy of living with my Family and my Heavenly Father again. I never made it out in space. but I accoknowledge the great creator of space and all there is because of the feelings of faith that live in my soul.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon because it makes me happy! Their are so many scary things in this world today. All of my fears and challenges would over come me if I did not have the Gospel of Jesus Christ to strengthen me, teach me and give me faith and the ability to carry on. I belive that Happiness is a choice. I choose to be happy when I follow the teaching of Jesus Christ. In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints we get to watch General Conference two times a year. It is broadcast from SLC Utah. Here we get to hear the words of God that he intends for us today. Right now! Through the mouths of a living Prophet and his apostles. There have been so many times that I have heard the things that I needed by listening to these men of God. I testify that Thomas S. Monson is a real living prophet today. Just as real as the Prophets in the Bible. I know Heavenly Father loves all his children. He loves us! So why wouldn't he communicate with us? He does! He sent his son to atone for our sins because he wants us to return and live with him. He has given us everything we need in this life to be successful if we will just believe and seek him. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God given to guide us and make us happy. I love being a Mormon! I love my Heavenly Father!!

How I live my faith

I try to live my religion each and everyday. There are many days when I have to back up, course correct and try again. It is such a blessing to know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ will help me do this. I work in an organization of women in my area. I love getting to meet new sisters. I call them my sisters because I know that we are all Heavenly Fathers Children, thus making us sisters. We have BYUI- a college, in our town so we have many families that come and stay for a short time. Some of these families come from as far away as Haiti, China, Korea and Africa. They have blessed my life. I go to them to see if they need any help and I am always amazed at their strength and courage. To leave their homes, families, language, cultures, food etc. As I seek to minister to them they always bless and teach me. This has taught me that the Lord loves all of his children. Where ever they are. Everyone has something to teach you if you take just a few minutes to learn from them.

What is the Relief Society?

Relief Society is Love. It is the largest women's organization in the world and is open to any women to join. Sisters, as we call each other in R.S. (For Short) have an amazing ability to see needs of others. There we have a desire to help but don't always know how. In Relief Society we accept the position of becoming our Brothers keeper. It is so nice to know that where ever we are we don't have to do life alone. My daughter moved a crossed the country with two small children. I have missed them so much, but I know that she is member of the R.S. there. There will be another sister just like me that will be happy to help her hold a baby in church. Or that she can ask about potty training or that will just give encouragement when she needs it. I do the same here for someone else's daughter. That is how it works. We see a need and fill a need. It is so amazing how something so simple can make you feel so happy. I have a strong testimony that w Show more Show less
