Hi I'm Terrilyn

About Me

I live in South Central Nebraska. I love to garden. I preserve my harvest. My Husband and I own a small farm, where we have goats, two dogs, a house cat, several barn cats, and lots of wild turkey and deer. We both grew up in the Church, me in Utah and my husband in California. Our children are grown and gone. We both enjoy antiques and our property. I am attending school to get my bachelors degree. It's been a joy to return and finally get it. We are both very blessed and see miracles in our lives continuously.

Why I am a Mormon

While growing up in the Church made it easy to stay in the Church, I choose to be a member because of the Spirit of the Holy Ghost which testifies to me about the truth of all things. The more I read and pray about the gospel, the stronger the Holy Ghost witnesses to me that this is the true and correct gospel of Jesus Christ. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know Joseph Smith translated it by the power of God. I know that Jesus Christ lives and loves each person on Earth.

How I live my faith

We travel over an hour one way to church each Sunday. I am the teacher for the 3 year old's and "Teaching No Greater Call" I have awesome callings and I love them. In the past I have held many callings, mostly in the Young Women's and the little kids in Primary. My gifts from Heavenly Father are to teach and speak, I love doing both.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

We are given desires and trials in this life to see if we will obey our Heavenly Father's commandments. We all have different urges. It is how we keep control of our passions that helps us stay away from sin. Each of us are children of God. We respect each person as being loved by Heavenly Father and Jesus. In love and faith we can help another person to stay chaste and clean without sin. It is important that a child of God talk to his Church leader about these desires and urges, so the Bishop and Stake leaders can help that individual to stay within the boundaries that God has set for us, not what society has set for us. The feelings are there, but the individual needs to recognize that it is his or her trial and overcoming those urges might take a life time to accomplish. It can be done, and the Church will help that individual to overcome it. Show more Show less
