Hi I'm Vance

About Me

I have a great wife and 5 fun and busy children. I enjoy coaching my kids and others in all types of sports, especially basketball. I like to be outdoors working in the yard and garden, playing with my kids, or just relaxing with our dogs. I like to spend time horseback riding and camping. I really like to read good books and never seem to have enough time for those on my list. I mostly just enjoy being with others and helping them.

Why I am a Mormon

I have found that following our Savior Jesus Christ is the only way to have true happiness in this life and hope for eternal happiness with our families forever. It's amazing how much better we feel about ourselves and everyone around us when we are serving and helping each other out. The true gospel of Jesus Christ is about living as He lived by loving and serving everyone around us. Our Heavenly Father wants us to be happy and learn to live as Jesus did here on earth. I can say that as we strive to follow Him we are living the plan of happiness.

How I live my faith

I spend a lot of my time working with youth. I teach youth in my church regularly. It's great to see the youth prepare to become responsible leaders and parents through scouting and learning gospel principles. I constantly learn from the great examples of our youth and I think that I learn more than they do.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Vance
Young men are encouraged to prepare to become missionaries and serve a full time 2 year mission after they are 18. Young women are encouraged to serve for 18 months after they are 19. Senior couples, after retirement are also encourage to serve missions. Show more Show less
