Hi I'm Daniel

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Husband. Father. Graduate student. Aspiring scientist. Avid programmer. Flipper of pancakes. Baker of biscuits.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the church by wonderful parents that taught me good values at an early age. They put me on the right path the have the kinds of spiritual experiences that would strengthen my faith in Jesus Christ, the scriptures, and the living prophet. I am a Mormon because I now know for myself that Jesus Christ lives and takes an active part in directing His church on the earth. I know that families can be together forever through Christ, and I cannot think of anything more rewarding than that!

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by living up to the expectations of my employers, my wife, my children, my parents, and most importantly, the Lord. I also try to live my faith through service. I currently serve in my local congregation as a Sunday school teacher for 5- and 6-year-olds, although my past church service has included playing the organ during worship services and providing sign language interpretation for deaf church members. I try to remember that service doesn't require a formal assignment. In addition to my service at church, I try to serve others all around me by being kind, patient, loving, and by looking for ways I can help. This is the way that Christ loved and served others, and doing so will bring us closer to Him than anything else can in this life.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon contains history and teachings, recorded anciently by men of God who lived on the American continent. Just like the Bible, these records were later compiled into a single volume. Over a thousand years after the Book of Mormon was written, a young man named Joseph Smith was called by God as a prophet. One of his first tasks as a prophet was to retrieve this ancient record and translate it into English. Joseph Smith never had much education and spent most of his adolescence and early adult life doing farm work and manual labor. For him to have translated this ancient record is truly a miracle. It is only by the power of God that this was possible. Show more Show less
