Hi I'm Glenna

About Me

My motto in life is that people are more important than things. I love being wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. I am also a cub scout leader and a piano teacher. I receive happiness and satisfaction from these relationships.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, there came a time in my life when I wanted and needed to know the truth for myself. I spent a lot of time reading the scriptures, especially the life of the Savior. I prayed often that I might come to know the Savior not just about Him. My prayers were answered. I am a Mormon because I learned for myself that this is the Savior's church. I want to be close to the Savior.

How I live my faith

There was a question in a church class one time about opportunities to serve the Savior. I believe that a person can serve the Savior in every facet of life. As a cub scout leader I try to lead in the way that the Savior would lead. As a piano teacher I try help my students take advantage of the talents they are blessed with to bless the lives of others. I try to act with integrity when I am driving down the freeway, voting, shopping and visiting. When others do things that hurt me or when they make mistakes I try to remember how the Savior forgave others.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

I believe that I will be with my husband after this life is over. We were married in the temple and we are trying to keep the promises that we made there. My husband's sweet mother died about six months after his father. We were happy to know that they were together again. Families are the most important relationship we have. We have faith that if we do our part that we will be together forever with those we love so much. Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

My husband and I have had five of our children serve missions, four sons and one daughter. In our family we encouraged our children to save enough to buy the clothes, books and travel expenses that they would need to serve a mission. That amount seemed like a pretty big amount for a youth to save. The boys worked summer jobs during their teenage years and saved the money for their mission. Our daughter saved money from jobs she worked while going to college to buy clothes for her mission. My husband and I worked and saved so that we would have enough money to contribute for their living expenses. We have a niece serving a mission right now and she saved enough for half of her mission and her dad agreed to pay for the other half. This sacrifice is something we do because we love the Lord.
