Hi I'm Scott

I am a husband and father of four. I have worked in the community with issues of housing, at risk youth and dispute resolution.

About Me

I love being a dad and building a family. I have been married for 15 years. I enjoy sports, and being outdoors hiking, and canoeing. I have been involved in scouting and other community groups that take youth into the mountains and the woods to have adventures and test their mettle. I love being involved in the community I live in. I have been involved in community organizations that address issues of housing, addictions, and criminally involved youth. My Current employment is as a mediator and I help people resolve disputes. I love life and the community I live in. The gospel enriches every aspect of my life. I

Why I am a Mormon

My parents became Mormon when I was about six years old and I loved the teachings the church gave me and the hope the gospel message brought. It helped me realize who I was and when I struggled as a teen, I turned to those teachings and discovered them to be true and of great worth to me. The Book of Mormon brought me to know that Jesus was more then a character of stories I had heard, but that he really is the son of God and was concerned about me, and the choices I was making. The scriptures brought me to want to live a Christ centered life. I am a better, husband, father, and worker because the example of the Savior. I want to be better and past mistakes do not hold me back. I know God answers prayers and this has helped me make important decisions in my employment and family life that has brought me so much happiness and joy. I have come to feel Christ's influence in my life and He is real. Imagine God want us to be happy and He can help us in the decisions that effect our happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily as I make a habit of reading the scriptures and praying daily, personally and with my family. This focus blesses the rest of my life as I carry the ideas, example and His spirit of peace and happiness throughout the day. It has strengthened my family as we share our thoughts with each other, and share the same strong desire to care for each other. It is a foundation that helps me to be a firm in who I am and what is important in life. I am always grateful my parents let in those Mormon missionaries to teach them, and joined the church when they did it has blessed our entire extended family. I have had great opportunities of being able to serve in the church and put the things I have learned into practice there. I have also have seen the Lord bless and grow me through these experiences. I have served n the youth programs and I am currently serving as a councilor to the bishop of our congregation. Attending church uplifts me as I associate and serve other great people and often see Christ through His church members.
