Hi I'm Dave

I'm a Student, a boy full of energy, happy and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love life, I love my family, and I love music but, most importantly, I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I enjoy trying new things. I am at the University studying English. I hope to one day be a teacher to be able to instill in others a love for learning. I'm very good with my hands and like to be creative. I love people and learning about their ideas and lives. I believe we all have something to learn from everyone around us.

Why I am a Mormon

Since I was born, I have seen the example of my parents living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They have taught me gospel principals like prayer and church attendance through their examples. I have observed the patterns my entire life of how their obedience to the Lord's commandments always follows with His blessings. I know that living the lifestyle of a Mormon is a sure way to bring peace and joy in our lives because I have seen it over and over. In my adolescence, I had the desire to obtain a personal conviction that the church was true. Through my lecture of the Book of Mormon and many heartfelt prayers, I was able to receive a subtle but undeniable witness for myself, through the power of the Holy Ghost that the Book was true and that it was translated by the power of God by a young prophet, Joseph Smith. Through my life as I have acted in accordance with Christ's doctrine contained in the Bible and the Book of Mormon, I have found that each act is followed by a confirming and strengthening witness that this church and all it teaches it true.

How I live my faith

Everyday, I look for opportunities around me to spark a light in someones life. We all have struggles in our lives and sometimes all we need is a little ray of hope. A smile, a short hello, or even a simple compliment can turn our day around. I try to leave everyone a little better than before. I love to teach others. I try to do so through words and example. I think the greatest thing we can do to be a disciple of Christ is to perform little acts of kindness throughout each day.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. We worship God, not men. Although we don't worship him, we do respect him very much. He was a man of great virtue through whom, the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth. We are forever greatful for who he was and what he did but we do not worship him. All the Prophets of God who have lived were great men. Show more Show less

What is the Law of Chastity?

Living this commandment is so rewarding! That may be because it is more difficult to live for some of us. Some of us might say that it is to hard to live but I once read a statement by a man, not of the Mormon faith, that shed a new light on this law. He explained that men don't recognize that God has our best interest in mind when He asks us to wait until marriage to have sexual relations. I realized that God doesn't want to inhibit us but rather that He is trying to give us a way to make our experience even more rewarding. Doing things God's way is always the best way and it doesn't leave us wanting. As I have kept myself clean, morally, spiritually, and even mentally by living this law, I have seen the blessings of added self-respect, peace and happiness. Show more Show less
