Hi I'm Pam

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 60+ woman who loves being active. I like to ride my bike to work whenever I can, at least once or twice a week. It takes about an hour. Occassionally I will walk, that takes just over 2 hours. I recently lost 65 lbs with the help of Weight Watchers. I am a vocational rehabilitation counselor. It is very rewarding to assist and provide services to individuals with disabilities in order to aid them in gaining employment.

Why I am a Mormon

When our children were young, my husband and I decided that we wanted to have some type of religious bases for raising our children. We visited many different churches and studied many different faiths. We decided on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because of the family emphasis, the foundation of Jesus Christ and the continued encouragement to study the scriptures and to find answers through the scriptures and personal prayer.

How I live my faith

I enjoy my calling as a Sunday School teacher. I teach gospel doctrines. I enjoy reading the scriptures and researching additional materials to prepare my lessons. I try to live my faith each day by showing my clients, co-workers and others I come in contact with the love of Christ.

What are some things that tell to you there is a God?

Everything around me tells me there is a God the beauty of the sunrise or sunset, the breeze, the smell of magnolia in that breeze. Seeing the smile on my now adult children's faces or hearing them laugh, sharing their experiences with me let's me know that there is a father in heaven who loves and appreciates our efforts here on earth. What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

My testimony is my knowledge that Jesus Christ lives, loves us, that My Heavenly father has provided us with a living prophet to guide us today, that the Holy Spirit is there to help me, guide me, direct me, as long I live in a way that will allow me to listen, Show more Show less

What are Mormon temples used for?

I am a convert to the church. My husband and I became members of the church together with our two young daughters. The most important part of the temple to me is that my husband and I were sealed for time and all eternity in the Washington DC temple in August of 1982. My husband graduated from this earth life in November 2015. I have the comfort and peace knowing that we will be together again in the next life. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

The strong emphasis that the church have on the family is one of the reasons that my husband and I joined the church. The idea that families can be together in eternity. The role of parents as partners in raising children. Show more Show less
