Hi I'm Laurie

I'm a convert, a photographer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Oh, where to start! I love being creative, and found my calling as a photographer when my husband encouraged me to pursue it as a career. I love hiking in the summer, cooking yummy meals, and pretty much anything else that's fun. I have a degree in interior design and I'm constantly changing floor plans in my head. I can't turn it off! We're currently renting but I am so looking forward to buying our first house one day so I can do a complete major renovation!

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon!! I have been a member of the LDS church since 2009 and it is the greatest decision I have ever made! I have been blessed so much ever since I decided to follow in my Saviour's footsteps and I know that He will continue to be with me as I strive to be more like Him. My life is happier, better, and more enriching as a Latter-day Saint! Being a Latter-day Saint provides me with a deeper understanding of my purpose here on Earth and a greater appreciation of what Jesus Christ has done for each of us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living obediently to the Saviour's commandments. He teaches me to be more humble, kind, and patient, and that I can bless others by being more like Him. When something challenging or overwhelming happens, I know as long as I strive to do what the Lord wants me to, He will give me the strength to endure. I am so grateful for the Saviour's gospel and the example He has set for me.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes! God can speak to us today through modern revelation and modern prophets! He cares for us and wants us to live righteously. President Monson, our prophet, receives revelation for everyone on Earth, not just members of this church. This testifies to me that God loves everyone and that the Saviour's atonement is extended to all. Show more Show less
