Hi I'm Erik

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and very grateful for the lessons that I learn there.

About Me

I am 57 years old and joined the church back in 1978. I live in Ohio. I enjoy sports, scouts, and my family. I'm into computers and love the beauty of nature.

Why I am a Mormon

I Joined the church back in 1978. I was not looking for a church to join, and my whole knowledge of the church was anti Mormon, I was trying to get my brother out of it,thinking that it was a cult. but as I talked with him, my sister in-law and the missionaries, I learned that the members believe in Jesus Christ, my understanding began to change, I've come to see , not only does the church believe in The Savior, that He is the Son of God, but that this church contains all the offices, gifts, keys and power of the primitive church, Apostles, prophets, evangelists, laws, ordinances, and on and on there is nothing missing, we have Jesus Christ at our head and the Holy Spirit in our hearts and we are truly fellow citizens of His Kingdom upon the earth, I understand now what he meant that His spirit will be a well of living water welling up from our bellies and that His peace will be with us and He will never leave us , I thank Him from the bottom of my heart and I hope to be the person that He knows that I can become, I love Him and hope to see him again when we are all resurrected, this is my testimony, in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

I try to read the scriptures everyday and love to hear the stories and testimonies of others in the struggle of this earth life. I strive to listen to the teachings of the prophets and I have served in my branch as the scoutmaster, First counselor to the branch presidency, and I currently serve as the Gospel principles teacher.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Erik
When I first was introduced to the church I asked the missionaries who holds the keys? The Prophet. Are there twelve apostles? yes. Are there bishops, deacons, teachers, evangelists? yes, yes, yes. I discovered that all the offices and teachings of the new testament where in place in the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints, I was amazed, yes we have prophets like moses today, wow.
