Hi I'm Jason Martin

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was just married to a wonderful woman who is going to school right now. I'm a huge fan of animation, especially Disney and Pixar, and I love soccer. I'll be rooting for the US Men's National Team like I always do in the 2010 World Cup. I enjoy riding my bike and working on my cartooning skills. I also enjoy building things with Lego's and I love to read adventure stories mostly and the classics.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to two loving parents who were already members in this church. So I was raised LDS. But the mistake many in and outside of the church sometimes make is that just because someone is born into this faith, does not mean they don't still have to be converted. I don't have to be a member of this or any other church for that matter, rather I was converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I chose to hold membership in this, the true Church of Christ. Being a member in this faith has taught me how to be a better person. It has shown me how all live in precious and that everyone is a Child of God, which makes them more then what they can become with just an Earthly point of view. It has shown me who God is and who I am and how I can better understand God and His Son Jesus Christ, and how I can be more like them. Understanding the parent/ child relationship I have with God helps me understand myself better as well as life, my relationship with everyone else, and what I can become. I know that life is hard and that just like anywhere else, you will find imperfect people even in this church. But that is the point, we are imperfect, sinful people, and thanks to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we can learn how to not be anymore. Just think of all the wars and human suffering this World has seen and how easily it could have been avoided if each and everyone of us truly cared enough to understand the words of the Savior when He said "...come, and follow me." (Matt. 19-21) I know this church is true and that Jesus Christ not only lives, that He is the true leader of this church. That Thomas Monson is a true prophet of God, called upon by Jesus Christ to be the Earthly leader of this church just as He called prophets of old like Moses and Abraham, to do the same in their day. I know the Bile is the word of God to the extent that is has been properly translated and that the Book of Mormon is the complete and fully word of God, and that when a person adheres to the words and teaching found in both books, they will find joy and know that He Lives. I know that Joseph Smith did restore the true church and was a prophet. And I know that my Father in Heaven and my Savior loves me and that if I live my life according to the teachings and principles they have shared with us, I can defeat the grave and live once again with my loved ones, and with them. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I'm new to my current ward, so I don't have anything that I am called to help with there yet. But I try to live my faith the best I can by going to the Temple when I can, reading the scriptures and learning more about God The Father and Jesus Christ. By learning from those examples, I try my best to be kind in all my deals with everyone and anyone who walks by. Coming from LA, I am very aware of the homeless problem and try to help people that are less fortunate then myself when ever the moment arrives. As I am newly married, I try to be a good husband to my wife and help out around the house when and where I can. I'm always asking anyone I may be visiting if there is anything I can do to help. Few have actually taken me up on my offer, but those that do I will help them in some way they may need. It may be painting a fence or cleaning dishes, or whatever bit of service is needed to make that person's life easier. I find with service I not only show an increase of love, but i learn more about my Savior and grow closer to Him.

What are some things that tell to you there is a God?

Jason Martin
As funny as it may sound, to me, many scientific principles testify of God. I love nature and watching nature films. After experiencing nature for myself and learning about it on tv, I know that God lives. There are too many different kinds of plant life and too many kinds of animal life and each and every one are so complex and live together in such a balance, I can't believe that God is not behind all of that. Even the human body itself is so complex and the very solar system, with Earth just so perfectly in place that life can exist here. To me, these really are wonders of God and they testify to me every day that He lives. Maybe the greatest example though isn't what I can see everyday though, but what I can feel. When ever I am down or depressed, at the moments of greatest trial in my life, I often can feel the presents and love the Holy Ghost is there to give to me, and I know that God not only lives, but He loves me. These, in addition to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, are how I know that God lives. Show more Show less
