Hi I'm Ben
I'm from Maryland and right now I'm serving a misison in Las Vegas, Nevada. Outside of my mission I'm a regular guy who happens to be amazing at Guitar Hero and Rock Band. I love to play piano and almost any sport. After my misison I'll return to college in Provo and pursue a career in economics.
Why I am a Mormon
I come from a devout Mormon family but I think every person at one point in his or her life has to go through their own conversion process. Mine happened as I was a senior in high school and decided that I would stop "going through the motions" and really apply the gospel to my life. I immediately saw the effect that had on me and the happiness that it brought into my life. Being on a mission has made my budding testimony blossom as I've seen how it can impact others. I know the gospel blesses families and I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and I am so grateful for that knowledge.
Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?
I'll admit that when I was younger prayer wasn't important to me. I would half-heartedly offer a very generic and repetitive prayer every night before going to bed and that was it. However, like most things in life I've discovered that the more you put into it, the more you get out of it. Prayer has opened the windows of heaven into my life as I've recieved answers to prayers whether it be through the actions of others, the thoughts that have come into my mind, or the peace of God that enters into my soul. More and more prayer has turned into a sacred time where I can go to God with my problems and questions and in turn recieve answers and ultimately feel His love.
How I live my faith
I live my faith by sacrificing two years of my life and devoting that to serving God and my fellow man. Daily I go out and strive to bring people closer to Christ. That is my sole purpose for these two years and it has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I have first-hand seen miracles as me and other missionaries diligently seek out people who will turn their hearts toward God.
