Hi I'm Marvin

I'm a father, husband, artist, experimental laptop musician, and yeah....... I'm Mormon.

About Me

I'm a bit of an impulsive character, but sincere all the while. It's true, you'll rarely see me without a smile on my face, but rest assured I'm imperfectly human just like anyone else. I have a very strong and very real testimony of the of the reality of the divinity and life of Jesus Christ and I do my very best to keep the Savior at the center of all that I am and do. "Happy-Go-Lucky" is a common title I'm given by friends and family, but I like to say that I simply maintain a "brighter-side of adversity" perspective. I have learned to appreciate the challenges of everyday life. I love being alive....... feeling the wind on my face, watching the leaves grow and fall, feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin, and hearing the wonderful sounds of nature. I grew up in So-Cal, but I've also spent lots of time in Portland, Oregon and in different regions of Utah. I love nature just as much as I love the arts. I'm a experimental laptop musician. When I'm not with my wife and children, I spend lots of time reading and listening to/ making music, painting, riding my bike, or shopping the local thrift markets and record stores. I'm always anxious to see where life will take me next, but I'm ever aware of the fact that I'm the one steering and directing this fantastic vehicle. Truth is the fuel that keeps it moving, love is the safest road to travel,....... and eternity is the final destination.

Why I am a Mormon

"So, why are you Mormon?" I get this question often. The answer is always the same. I am a Mormon simply because I know the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I know it with every decimal portion of my soul. I came to this conclusion through extensive personal study of the scriptures, contemplation, and most importantly prayer. When I was ready, I knelt down and asked God if it was true or not. I got an answer. It's as simple as that. The answer I received ... or the experience was brilliant beyond words. Honestly, to explain it is nearly impossible.... but of one thing I am sure. It is true. I know without a shadow of doubt that God the Father lives, that Jesus Christ is the redeemer of all mankind, and I know this Church is His. That's why I'm a Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live my faith the way I believe all others should. By example. I do my very best to walk the "talk". I believe there is no greater joy than to be in the service of others. I do my very best to implement the teachings of Christ into all that I do. I live my faith by choosing the right and doing my very best to make a healthy and positive contribution to the world around me, wherever I may be.
