Hi I'm Jeff

My professional work has been science, research and engineering which has supported my most important work - my family.

About Me

My interest in science and engineering has provided opportunities to improve the standard of living for many people. Patents and publications, new technology and innovation have given me the chance to see much of the world and meet great men of science and industry. As I held my father's hand as he recently passed away, I was reminded that life is short and some things are more important than others. My sweet wife, our seven children and their spouses with 20 grandchildren (and growing) are the real purpose of my life, my true vocation. I appreciate the words of Robert Browning in "Rabbi Ben Ezra:" Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be, The last of life, for which the first was made: Our times are in His hand Who saith "A whole I planned, Youth shows but half; trust God: see all, nor be afraid!''

Why I am a Mormon

My faith is the anchor of my life and reading the scriptures was the beginning of that faith. Prayer is my opportunity to talk to God and the scriptures have been his voice back to me. When I discovered this as a young teenager, I found a peace and contentment that have sustained me through the ups and downs of life.

How I live my faith

My faith is that family is the one thing that will last through all time. Our Heavenly Father is just that and we call each other brother and sister because so we are. Survey large fields and cultivate small ones is another way of saying we change the world when we take care of things at home the circle of people around us. So faith is expressed in smiles and kindness; in small acts of service given habitually and freely without consideration of what we receive in return. Playing at the park with little ones, cleaning the yard for someone unable to do for themselves, commiserating and laughing at life's ironies with those who suffer, validating those who sometimes aren't heard - that is faith. That is the example of our Brother, Jesus Christ. I can't do everything but I can always do something.
