Hi I'm Patricia

About Me

My family has lived in Vermont since before the 1790 US Federal Census was enumerated. I am married with five children and currently nine grandchildren. I live in a small town with my husband. I have an undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and a graduate degree from Dartmouth College. For hobbies I enjoy home-y type things as well as genealogical research, reading, knitting, spinning, and perhaps weaving which I hope to learn soon. My greatest joy is serving my Lord and my family.

Why I am a Mormon

When the missionaries came to visit my family many years ago they challenged us to pray about the divinity of Jesus Christ and about The Book of Mormon, among other things. When I did pray solitarily I have a wonderful feeling of peace and joy fill my whole soul and I knew the things about which I prayer were true. I have never had a change of heart; in fact my conviction about the gospel principles I have studied in the scriptures and through personal prayer have been more solidly confirmed to me as time has gone by.

How I live my faith

From my earliest days as a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I have enjoyed teaching all age groups and serving in the various organizations of the Church including the children, the youth, the women, and mixed groups.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Jesus Christ loves us so He was willing to act as proxy for us and pay the consequences for our transgressions if we would believe on Him and keep His commandments. Show more Show less
