Hi I'm Julie

I'm a mother. I love horses. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I joined the LDS church at the age of 19. I went on a mission at the age of 21 to (of all places) Utah. I recieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences. I am a mother of two girls. I have loved horses since I was a teen, and now I am able to have one of my own again. I especially enjoy gentling horses who are difficult to handle. My "specialty" is putting horses into trailers without violence. I like to do cross stitch, and am working on a large (can you guess) horse picture.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this church because I asked God what He wanted me to do and that was His answer.

How I live my faith

My favorite thing to do is to teach the children. But I am happy to do whatever God calls me to do. Right now I am serving as the President in our local congregation (Ward) of the worlds oldest women's organization (Relief Society).

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Because God's pay is much better. Plus, as Elder Maxwell said, "the retirement plan is out of this world"... Show more Show less

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

God chooses the Prophet! There is no election or vying for position. After a Prophet is called, he is annouced to the entire membership who are then asked to sustain and support him. Members are encouraged to pray and ask God for confirmation of the divine calling of each prophet. Memebers are advised NOT to follow "blindly", but to find out for themselves. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No. Although we hold Jopeph Smith in high esteem and look upon him with enormous respect and appreciation, we do not worship him. We worship only God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Of course! A Christian is someone who is a follower of Christ and His teachings. We love the Savior and strive to be like Him. Participating members of the Church do everything they can to follow His teachings and live the way He wants them to. Show more Show less

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

I was an athiest before learning about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Then I met missionaries who taught me to pray. As I read The Book of Mormon and prayed, it testified that Jesus Christ was a real person and the Savior. Reading the Book of Mormon also prepared me to read the Bible and helped me to understand it. Why do some call Mormonism a cult?
