Hi I'm Andreas

I grew up in Denmark. I'm a chemical engineer and love to play the piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a chemical engineer and work with renewable energy technology such as hydrogen fuel cells. I have a PhD in chemistry and am currently working on improving the efficiency of fuel cells and the conversion of biogas into natural gas. My wife is American. We got married 8 years ago. She speaks near-perfect Danish and works part-time as a musician. In my spare-time I play the piano, which I love, and I often accompany my wife when she sings or conducts choirs. Two years ago we got our first child. He was born with Down Syndrome. Spending time with our boy is the greatest joy in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family of 5 children. My parents both converted to the LDS Church in their adult life. When I was about 16 years old I prayed to know whether God was really there to hear my prayers and cared about me. I felt his love fill me and was left without any doubt that he exists. I love to read the teachings of Jesus in the Bible--especially the Sermon of the Mount and His parables. The Book of Mormon supports His teachings and contains wonderful sermons as well on faith and repentance. It is an amazing collection of stories and teachings, and it has convinced me that the LDS Church is truly Christ's church today.

How I live my faith

A year ago I was asked to be the Bishop of the congregation I had been part of for 13 years. The last year as Bishop has been a wonderful time, as I have been able to share in miracles in the lives of people that choose to put faith in Christ. I have been able to witness the happiness and peace people experience as they become baptized or change their lives to correspond to the teachings of the Savior. I know that the Lord is interested in and loves people individually, and that he is in charge of His Church.
