Hi I'm Ammon

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father of three children. I love sports, video games, and technology. My wife and I run a business together, I have a full-time job, and am taking online college classes. I love donuts, pizza, and ice-cream! I own a snake (Columbian Red-Tail Boa Constrictor), a spider (Tarantula), 2 dogs, and a cat. I've lived in Utah, Washington, Colorado, and New Jersey. I served four years in the U.S. Air Force and I was stationed in Spangdahlem AB in Germany for three and a half years where I met my wife. I enjoyed the opportunity to serve my country and to travel and meet people from many other cultures during my enlistment.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised a Mormon, after I left home, I didn't always find time to attend church. I felt that it was restrictive to spend time on Sundays going to a meeting house, when I wanted to do my own thing. However, I soon realized that watching sports all day wasn't as fulfilling as participating with others in worship and learning how to be more like Jesus Christ. I learned that true freedom comes from following the laws and commandments of a loving Heavenly Father, not from doing what our own wants and desires lead us to do. As I became more engaged at church and started having opportunities to serve others, I began to feel the love of Christ in my own life. I was starting to know who He is and why He died for each of us. I had a desire to share that message with others and wanted to help lift the burdens of my neighbors in some small way as often as I could, just as Jesus would do if He were here. Getting "lost" in the service of others brings joy and happiness in this life. Whatever trials and struggles that I'm having, seem to melt away as I focus on other people and as I work to help them to solve their problems. Being a Mormon gives me so many opportunities to serve!!

How I live my faith

I volunteer my time at church helping to support several congregations (Wards), it involves visiting the Wards, helping the Ward Leaders, and finding ways to minister to individuals one on one as the Savior did when He was on the earth. Our family spends time each week individually and as a family studying ways that we can better live our lives to be more like Jesus Christ and become better family members to one another, better friends, neighbors, and citizens in our community. We have a daughter currently serving an 18 month mission in the Illinois Chicago Mission. She has been a great example of sacrifice, putting her education and life on hold while she spreads the message of Jesus Christ that means so much to her. She has such joy when others receive the Gospel message and begin to feel what she feels. Our son is about to leave on a 24 month mission to Calgary, Canada.
