Hi I'm Nick

I'm a medical student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm in the middle of my medical education which keeps me busy, but I love learning about medicine. My wife is an extremely hard-working and talented graphic designer. We love living in Boston as well as the people we're meeting here.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both Mormons, and my whole family was raised going to church and learning about the important principles of faith and charity. Although the examples of my family were crucial to my personal conversion, at a certain age I realized that I can't simply depend on my family for my faith. I also had not made the best decisions in my life, bringing me to the realization that there's got to be something more to it all: I just wasn't happy. It took a lot of humility and repentance, but the Lord helped me get back on the path I needed to be on. Since that experience, following Christ hasn't necessarily become easier, but I know how important it is to stay close to God. At any point in my life where I've lost hope or not been happy, it's because I wasn't close enough to my Savior. It doesn't make life easy to follow Christ, but I know without a doubt it's the right thing, and it makes me feel good about who I am.

How I live my faith

My wife and I both have opportunities to serve in positions within our congregation. These positions require our attention mostly on Sundays, but also throughout the week as well. It's a great opportunity to get to know and help other people in our congregation and community. But living my faith certainly goes beyond how I participate in my congregation. It's a daily effort to be better and become more like Christ, especially when life is full of appointments, classes, work, etc. I've found that it really takes a real, concerted effort to live like Christ would in both thought and action.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

I love the Bible. What an incredible account of God's interactions with His people. I especially love the New Testament because of the many stories we can read about Christ. It helps me so much to see how He acts and to read His teachings from His own life. Furthermore, the epistles are very motivating to me to give my best in following Christ. The Bible is certainly holy scripture, and together with the Book of Mormon, I really feel how it strengthens my personal relationship with my Savior. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

This is one of the greatest promises given to us from God. Honestly, as newlyweds, it can be a little intimidating to think about being together forever. But who else would I want to spend eternity with than my family? I think it's so great that if we do our best to follow God while here on earth, we can live happily with our families forever.
