Hi I'm Cody Fowkes

Hi! I'm a father, husband and teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi there! My name is Cody and I'm a Mormon. I am a school teacher in a small rural town. I have a lovely family of 4 children and I married my high school sweetheart that I can say is mine for an eternity. I owe a lot of who I am to my parents who made ends meet despite many of life's difficulties. My passion is football. I love to play and watch it whenever the opportunity presents itself :-). I also love camping, fishing, baseball, reading, and talking with others. Love Ya'll!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon from my youth but my family and I fell away for several years before becoming re-activated. My family moved when I was 14 to a small town in UT. It was a hard adjustment but it turned out to be one of the greatest blessings in my life. We didn't go to Church at the time but some of our friends there began to invite us to come. It started w/my brother and then the rest of us followed suit. At the time I still hadn't read the Book of Mormon all the way through while attending Church, so I made it a point to find out for myself to make sure what everyone was saying was true. When I finished it I remember getting on my knees. No sooner had I knelt down then an overwhelming feeling of peace, love, and comfort flooded me. Words can't do it justice. It was such a powerful feeling that it changed the course of my life for an eternity. It's amazing how merciful our Father in Heaven is. Now being a father myself, I couldn't fathom sending my son out to suffer the pains of His Greatest Creations...us. The purest blood was spilt on the earth that He created in an agonizing torment that allowed us joy and happiness with our families for an eternity. I KNOW HE LIVES! If I could ever leave anything more precious to my family and future generations it would be those words. I love Him and I can't wait to water His feet with my tears for all the great things He has done for us. I LOVE HIM!

How I live my faith

I served a two years in Madrid Spain as a representative of our Church, The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints. It was an experience that would be near impossible to express in full in such a short story. I had the opportunity to help others find their own personal testimonies of our Savior. There is no better feeling than that. After returning home I've had several more opportunites to serve in our communities and Church. The majority of my time has been spent with the youth. I work with the young men from ages 12-17. We've taken them on several activities and try to teach them the tools they need to keep them safe in an unsafe world. The Church teaches all of us to be honorable, courageous, moral, and strong in the face of adversity and that's what we relate over again to the youth. It is a wonderful feeling to help others. Together we strive to make the world a better place for all of us and prepare it for the Coming of our Lord and Savior.
