Hi I'm Nichol

I'm a Mormon. I am a wife, mom and now a student. I love my life!

About Me

I have been married now for 14 years. We have 3 boys. Our oldest is severely autistic and requires constant watch and help. I homeschool the other 2 and love being with them. I love quilting, reading, camping and going on vacations. It's good to get away. I love my family and friends very much. I also do freelance writing.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have prayed about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I know it to be true. I have read the Book of Mormon, prayed about it and know that it is the word of God. I am so grateful for continued revelation from God today. I know that Joseph Smith was inspired by God to translate the Book of Mormon. I served a mission when I was 21 years old where I had the opportunity to share the Gospel message with the wonderful Italian people. I have had so many experiences where the Holy Spirit has testified that what I was teaching is true. I cannot deny what I felt and what I know to be true. My life would be so uncertain and depressing without this knowledge. Knowing that there is life after death and that we will be together as a family forever is so wonderful. My son that is handicap will be made whole when Jesus Christ returns and I am so excited for that day. If I didn't have the knowledge that I do, it would be hard to go on. I believe that my son has been sent to help our family be more Christ like, through service, compassion and understanding. It's not easy, but this understanding makes it doable.

How I live my faith

I love my calling as a visiting teacher and coordinator. I sit with my oldest son during church to help the teachers out. I love attending church every week, the spirit there is so refreshing and it helps me get through my week. We have a gentleman in our ward that helps me with our autistic boy. He sits with him the last hour. This is so wonderful because I am able to attend my class uninterupted. It is really a huge blessing for me. I try to be a good example to my children. We read our scriptures daily and it makes it easy to have discussions about the lessons inside. The Holy Scriptures are there for us today. They help us get through the challenges of this life. I pray often to help me. I'm so grateful for prayer, it has been a strength for me in my life.

What is the First Vision?

The First Vision happened in 1820 when Joseph Smith had read in James 1:5 when God said "Let him ask of God who giveth to all men liberally and abraidith not." He wanted to know which church he should join. At the time, there was a great movement going on and many churches were saying many different things. So, Joseph went to the grove near his home to pray and ask God like it said in the scripture. While he was praying, a light descended upon him that was brighter than the sun at noon day. God the eternal Father and His son Jesus Christ appeared to him. They instructed him to join none of the churches. I have prayed about this and know it to be true. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes they can. My husband and I were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Holy Temple. We have a promise that if we strive to do all that we can we will be together forever. This is so wonderful. I love my husband so much and I chose him to be my eternal companion. He is a good man who loves me and our children very much. He is a great man who treats me with respect and an equal. I believe that families will live together forever in Heaven. The thought of having my children close to me forever is wonderful. And to be with all my family forever is really wonderful. Show more Show less
