Hi I'm Carla

I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I enjoy reading, walking with my friends and playing with my grandchildren. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I have raised four sons, and now we have four exceptional daughters-in-law and eleven grandchildren. I love planning family activities and playing games with my grandchildren. My husband and I recently served a mission for our church. We spent 18 months in Northern Minnesota, and loved meeting and teaching people about our Savior, Jesus Christ. My favorite hobby is searching for information about my ancestors. I find pictures and historical records on the Internet. I am inspired to be a better person when I read about my ancestors.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents and grandparents were Mormon, so I grew up attending church every Sunday. I learned that I have a purpose in life, that my Heavenly Father knows me personally and has a plan for me. As a young adult, I prayed to ask Heavenly Father if the doctrines of this church are true. I can testify that my prayer was answered. I sincerely believe this is the Church of Jesus Christ, His restored gospel.

How I live my faith

My husband and I teach an adult Sunday School class. It's fun for us to prepare and present our lesson together. I have recently volunteered as a tutor in our local elementary School. I'm helping a little boy improve his reading skills. Sometimes I ask myself, "Have I done any good in the world today?" There are a lot of opportunities in my own neighborhood to help someone in need.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I believe there is a prophet today. Surely God loves us today as much as he loved those living on earth during Abraham's or Moses' time. We need guidance from our Heavenly Father as much as they did. I am so thankful for a living prophet. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

"By their fruits ye shall know them." I would suggest that you ask questions about the doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Compare our teachings with what the Savior taught in the New Testament. Observe how active Mormons live their lives and raise their families. Above all, read the Book of Mormon with an open mind, and then ask Heavenly Father if what you are reading is true. If you are sincere, He will answer you. You will feel peace and joy.
