Hi I'm Elvia Angelina

I was born in Ecuador. I moved to the USA in 1979 where I joined the church. "I'm happy to be a Mormon."

About Me

I'm happyly married with four incredible children and one adorable grandchild. I work part time at home making reservations for JetBlue Airways but more than anything else I love to be a wife, a mom and a grandmother. I feel very blessed for each of my children. They are all very special and just like their 22 year old handicap brother, they have all taught me the importance of love, compassion, patience and forgiviness. I have an Associate degreee in General Education and hopefully some day I will be able to get my Bachellor and Master to be able to teach Math and Spanish. I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for 30 years and these have been the best years of my life. Sometimes life has not been so easy, I have had many struggles and challenges but being thankful for what I have and making the right choices has always kept me afloat and cheerful!!!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was young my family was not very religious. We only went to church once in a while. In my teenage years my parents divorced and my mother had a hard time dealing with rebelious teenagers. She prayed to God for guidance and that's when the missionaries came to our door and taught us the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We all wanted to start a new life and that is how my mother, two of my sibblings and I got baptized. I remember clearly that Saturday afternoon walking home from our baptism, how I wanted to have a happy family, an eternal family. I promised to our Heavenly Father that I would be obedient in serving and helping others so He would bless us. I know God lives. He is real and listens to our prayers. He rescued us by teaching us a new, better way of living. I know our Savior lives. He came to earth to teach us the way. By keeping my promise to God in serving others, He has blessed me with a wonderful family of my own. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored. We have a prophet to help and guide us in these latter days just like ancient people did for God is the same, yesterday today and forever. I testify of this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

As a Visiting Teacher once a month I visit two of my neighbors. I enjoy getting to know them better and they know they can count on me not only as their neighbor but also as their friend. On Sundays I teach the youth. We learn together from the Scriptures how we can be better people by following the example of our Savior Jesus Christ. Through the years I have learned that serving and helping others is the way to show our Heavenly Father our love for Him and our Savior Jesus Christ. When we serve others our own loads become lighter and we truly feel we are not alone. We have each other to encourage and uplift when challenges come our way. We know our Heavenly Father is watching us and no matter how hard life could be we know that with his help we can overcome our trials and endure to the end.
