Hi I'm Agnes Toya

I am from Uganda and I am a returned missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi brothers and sisters, I joined the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints in 2008. I was baptized on July 27th. I am now a returned missionary. I served in South Africa Johannesburg Mission from March 4th 2010- September 21st 2011 under two wonderful mission presidents, President David Poulsen and President Craig Omer. I learnt so much from my two mission presidents and I am so grateful I got to serve a mission. My testimony was greatly strengthened and I made wonderful friends I will never forget.I am so sure if I did not serve a full-time mission, I would not know a lot of the things I know now but thanks to Father in Heaven, He was merciful enough to call me on a full-time mission, not that I deserved it but He wanted to teach me and He did teach me. I know that He loves each one of us more than we could ever comprehend, for we are His beloved sons and daughters, He wants us back home to Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because the teachings of the Mormons is like a passport to Heaven, all I have to do is use it effectively.I know that the Church is TRUE.You can know too if you put forth the effort and do your part by reading the Book of Mormon, pondering about the message with a sincere heart and asking Heavenly Father through heart felt, sincere prayer in the name of Jesus Christ if the Book is true, if you follow that course, Heavenly Father will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost for by the power of the Holy Ghost, ye shall know the truth of all things Moroni 10:5. I am proud to be a Mormon:)

How I live my faith

I strive daily to live the Gospel Standards like daily scripture study, prayer, and of course making sure I am worthy to have the spirit of the Lord with me, sharing the gospel by accompanying the full-time missionaries in our Ward in teaching appointments whenever I can and sharing the gospel with people when opportunity presents itself.Generally,I strive everyday to live what I study in the scriptures. That is,actively living the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST. I also make sure my Temple Recommend is current.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Agnes Toya
Baptism is very essential if we want to Enter into the Kingdom of God and live in His presence.Jesus Christ taught that no one can enter into the Kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit John 3;5.To me,baptism is the gate through which we enter into the road that leads to eternal life.baptism also shows that we have repented and want to live our lives according to the teachings of Jesus Christ,it gives us the opportunity to live with God and know a fullness of joy if it so be that we will KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS TO THE END.Through baptism,we enter into an agreement with Heavenly Father and promise that we are willing to take upon ourselves the name of Christ and witness to the world that we are willing to keep His commandments and serve our fellow beings, and if we do so,then we recieve a remission of our sins.read Mosiah 18 verses 8 to 10 in the BOOK of Mormon.besides,Christ Himself was baptized and if we are His followers then we too must be baptized. What is faith?

Agnes Toya
Faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things but a believe in something we can not see but we know is true. Our faith must be centred in Jesus Christ or it is void!! Faith without action is dead so, for faith to grow and yield the fruit of eternal life, it must be nourished carefully and diligently through sincere prayer, daily scripture study, generally keeping God's commandments.
