Hi I'm Kitrick

I'm a recently-married college student studying accounting. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small Wyoming town and learned to love living in the cold. After graduating from high school, I attended a semester at a small community college in Wyoming where I learned enough about myself to realize that I wanted to help others, so I decided to serve a mission for my Church and was assigned to Calgary, Canada for two years. I learned to speak Spanish during those two years (yes, in Canada!) as my assignment was primarily to serve and teach the wonderful people who had moved there from Central and South America. Those two years were some of the best of my life. After returning from Canada, I again took up my studies at a larger university where I found the love of my life. Luckily, she thought the same of me and we were married last summer. She's the best thing that ever happened to me, and I'm looking forward to spending the rest of my life (and forever) with her! We hope that someday we can graduate from school, myself with a degree in accounting and her with a degree in nursing, and continue on down the road of life with some children along the way.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know that God wants me to be a part of it. I don't claim to know what I know about God and His love because of what somebody else has told me about his or her experience with God; I know that God is willing to help me feel His love in a very personal, individual way, and I can say that I know that because I have experienced it myself. I know that God is willing to answer sincere prayers and that every single person, no matter how big or small, and no matter what his or her position or status in the world may be, is infinitely important to Him. You and I are children of God Himself, and that's an incredible thing to think about. I'm a member of this Church because I asked my Heavenly Father if all that I'd heard and read and experienced in it was true, and He confirmed it to my soul in a way that I had never before felt and have seldom felt since. His Spirit, the Holy Ghost, testified to me that this is the true Church of God, and it did so in a way that left no room for doubt in my mind. His Spirit, while soft and gentle, seemed to etch the truth of this church into the depths of my soul. And from that moment onward, I have had no reason to look back.

How I live my faith

I love teaching. There's something magical about a teaching setting in which you enter as a teacher but leave feeling as though you have gleaned more from the people you were supposed to teach than you could have possibly shared with them. I feel that way every time I teach people in Sunday school, and I love the opportunity that I have to do so! The experiences that others bring to the table help me to understand more of who God is and what my true relationship is to Him in ways that I could likely never understand on my own. I try to lift others up in the same ways that I've been lifted up by the people in my life, and I find that life is always brighter when I get the chance to do so.
