Hi I'm Jared

I grew up in southern CA. I love the beach. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the beach, body-boarding and outdoor activities. I also love playing sports. I'm the middle child of 9 total kids. I've served in the US Marine Corps as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I was "born" in the Church. My parents are both members. My dad is a convert to the Church. My mom's parents were converts as well. The primary reason I'm a Mormon is the testimony I received while reading and praying about the Book of Mormon. I desired to know for myself if it was true and if I should devote my life to this cause. I received an unmistakable answer from God that what I was reading was true. I have since then had that testimony reconfirmed time and again.

How I live my faith

I try to live faithfully and true to what I know to be right. My faith is to be true and honest, to treat others with respect, kindness and fairness. I try to be understanding, helpful, and a true firend. I seek in my personal life to develop myself as a disciple of Jesus Christ to follow His teachings and example. I study the scriptures, attend Church, serve others and I try to be a good man, son, brother and citizen.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is a spiritual witness or confirmation that comes by the power of the Holy Ghost. It includes such feelings as "love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance:". Receiving such an impression from the Holy Ghost leaves an unmistakeable impression on the soul, and it comes from our loving Heavenly Father in answer to sincere prayer. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

They are not required but the young men are strongly encouraged. I believe it is expected of them by the Lord to fulfill that sacred calling. Young women make excellent missionaries and are of great worth to missionary work. No one is required by the Church to serve. Show more Show less
