Hi I'm Todd

I love sports and spending time with my beautiful wife and 5 awesome kids. I'm a finance manager, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints all of my life. Our family currently lives in Brisbane, Australia, but we are US citizens. My wife and I have five wonderful children, each is also a member of the church. I work as a Finance Manager in the Brisbane area. My wife and I are active volunteers in the church, which is a source of great joy for us.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the Lord Jesus Christ. I know that he is Heavenly Father's son. I know that he taught correct principles when he was on the earth. If we live by those principles then we will have genuine happiness in our lives today and be able to live with Jesus again some day. The Book of Mormon is true because it teaches about Jesus Christ and it helps mine and my family's lives. We look to the principles in that book for guidance. I love the Mormon church because I genuinely feel purpose and meaning in my life. It is a source of great joy and peace for me and my family. I know that the Mormon church - the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - is God's church on earth because I have felt the wamth and peace of the Holy Ghost confirm this knowledge to my mind and heart.

How I live my faith

I look forward to the sabbath day when we have an opportunity to worship the Lord Jesus Christ. But I also strive to live my faith each day of the week. At work, I strive to have Christian principles govern my life - honesty, hard work, integrity, service, commitment and loyalty. At home, we pray together as a family, we read the Bible and Book of Mormon, and together my wife and I teach our children about God, the Father and His son Jesus Christ. I try hard to consistently do what is right.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Whenever I go to dinner with colleagues or friends that are not members of the church, the topic of religion always comes up. In fact, I can't remember a time when it hasn't. The reason it does is because when the waiter/waitress takes drink orders I always ask for a lemonade or water. Others at the table ask, "why aren't you drinking?" I respond, "I don't drink alcohol." More frequently, they then respond, "Are you Mormon?" And then we're off on a discussion about why I don't drink coffee, tea or alcohol as a member of God's church. We do not partake of these substances because Heavenly Father has asked us not to. Drinking alcohol changes ones behavior, possibly to the point of uncontrollability. Many ask, what harm is a simple glass of wine at the end of the day? It probably isn't that harmful, but I have made a promise to God that I wouldn't partake of those substances, and that promise overrides any justification for drinking alcohol. The spirit of this law is not about the alcohol. It's about taking care of your body. Not only should we not partake of these substances, but Heavenly Father wants us to eat good foods, get plenty of exercise and adequate rest. Physical strength is just as important as spiritual strength for all of us as God's children. Show more Show less
