Hi I'm Nate

I grew up in Star Valley, Wyoming. I am a husband and father of 4. I am a physical therapist in Idaho Falls. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family is of utmost importance to me. I have 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. My oldest boy is married with no children. He served a mission in Singapore. I love to hike big mountains in Idaho and Wyoming, trail run, and snow shoe. I am a Mormon bishop which takes up a lot of my free time but I love serving the members of my congregation. I served a mission for the LDS church in Northeastern Italy. I have a wonderful wife who is an incredible mother to our children and still found time to go to graduate school and become a speech pathologist.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my beliefs in the doctrines of the Mormon church have produced much happiness in my life. There have been many paths I have traveled down in my life and soon realized that those directions were not bringing me any lasting happiness. There were fleeting moments of "pleasure" or "fun" but nothing that I would put the sacred label of "happiness" on. When I was 19 and at college I discovered what the word of God could do for me in my life through reading the Book of Mormon and the Bible. I realized that by following the words in those sacred books and trying to fashion my life after the teachings of the Son of God, I was actually happy. I also discovered that as I put into practice those teachings, they produced good "fruit" in my life. I served a mission to Italy and found that looking outside myself and serving people I didn't know made me feel complete and filled with gratitude for all of God's children. I found a woman that brought profound joy into my life because she believed the same things that I found important. I had 4 wonderful children who we brought up in the teachings of Christ and who are individuals now who know who they really are and what they are capable of. I have served diligently in the Mormon church which has brought me opportunities to make a difference in people's lives. All of these experiences based upon the teachings of Christ through the vehicle of the Mormon church have produced good "fruit" in my life. Christ once said, "By their fruits shall ye know them." I know that this is the true church of Christ on the earth. It contains all of the truth that existed in the organization that Christ established when he was here. It is all true and there is no doubt in my heart and mind that it is!

How I live my faith

I am a Mormon bishop. That requires many hours out of my week spending time with the young people in my congregation, visiting widows in my neighborhood and offering service to the sick and elderly in my neighborhood. I have over 50 widows that I have responsibility for as well as over 50 young people for whom I must oversee their spiritual development. Our ward is very diverse in age and it makes for a very interesting and wonderful opportunity for growth for all involved. I own a physical therapy practice in my town and specialize in treating spine pain, disease, and dysfunction. This gives me much opportunity to interact with my community and attend events to promote a healthy lifestyle. We have a community of about 50000 people but it feels like a very small town and everyone knows almost everyone else. I enjoy serving in my community and at my children's schools.
