Hi I'm David

I am a husband to a beautiful wife and a father of 5 children. I graduated from the University of Washington, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Elko, Nevada in 1976. I was born with my twin brother to parents who were already members of the church. I was baptized at the age of eight. I left home to serve a mission in West Virginia at the age of 19 for two years. I returned home and moved to Spokane, Washington which I have called home since1997. I was married in June of 98 to my beautiful wife (who has an addiction... to ice cream) and we have five children (4 daughters and a son). My family is what motivates me. I love any free time I can get. I love to golf, fish, camp, hike, shoot guns, or play almost any sport.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I believe in this church. Although educated as a child in the ways of this church, my real conversion came while on my own serving my mission in the hills of West Virginia and Virginia. I learned to enjoy talking about religion with people. I loved asking people, "why do you go to that church"? I even asked myself why do I go to this church? I am a member of this church because I know it to be true for me. I love its safety in a troublesome world we live in. What some call too many restrictions, I call freedom. I appreciate the moral values it tries to instill among its membership. When times are rough in life, I always enjoy the sweet peace that comes from living the gospel of Jesus Christ. It comes with so much hope and promise, particularily the promise of an eternal life with our family after mortality.

How I live my faith

Most importantly I try to live my faith at home by teaching my family. Prior to bed each night my family and I sing, read scriptures, and pray. We have family night each week and we remain active in church each Sunday. I must add that our family time is rarely an organized spiritual experience. Simply put, it's chaos at best! But, we are consistent! At church I currently work with the youth. I thoroughly enjoy working with the youth and appreciate the example of strength they are to me. They help me to be a better father to my children.
