Hi I'm Dave

I have lived all over the United states, I'm retired from the Corporate world. Father, husband, brother, son, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Having lived all over the U.S.A., it was easy to pick a favorite spot when our family had the opportinty to retire from corporate life and find a more peacefull and gospe centered life. We decided on the mountians of Northwest Montana. Today our family enjoys a life more focused on gospel principles and less on the rat race of modern urban society. We wouldn't change a thing! We love the gospel and we love Montana.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born of goodly parents who laid a foundation of loving the Savior in my life while I was young. Like most youth, there came a time when I questioned if what I had been taught was true. I studied and visited other religions but ultimately took it upon myself to ask God if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and all that I had been taught and had personally studied about it was true. It was an amazing experience to gain a personal witness of the truthfulness and the fullness of the gospel that is found only in His church. Many years latter, I continue to learn to discern and follow the promptings of His Spirit better and am still in awe of the precious and simple truths of the gospel and His plan of Happiness for us! I know our Father loves us and has provided all that is needed, that each of us can fulfill in this life that which is necessary for our continued progression. I know that His son, our brother and savior, did what we could not, that we might overcome physical death and be forgiven for our sins and transgressions as we repent and learn that happiness is found in following their example. I know that the fullness of the gospel, including the authority to act in Fathers name, was restored to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith and that as a result of that restoration we can, by taking upon ourselves necessary eternal covenants and living as best we can, return as an eternal family to our Father. I am Mormon because love the gospel!

How I live my faith

I am first, a husband and Father, the patriarch of my home sharing equally with my sweetheart the joys and trials of learning to become better parents, and partners in this life. For several years I served as a Branch President (this is like a Pastor or Bishop) of our small congregation. While it was challenging at times, it was also one of the most rewarding experiences I have had in serving in the church. I currently now have the pleasure of serving (for the past 4 years) as a Gospel Doctrine Instructor. Teaching has always been a favorite calling for me as I always learn more than I am able to share as I prepare lessons. Each year we study a portion of the doctrine of the gospel (our scriptures including the old & new Testaments of the Bible, The Book of Mormon, The Doctrine and Covenants, the Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith History and Articles of Faith). I love the opportunity to interact with members of our branch family and visitors as we all continue to improve our knowledge of and our commitment to living the gospel of Jesus Christ! Outside of our Sunday meetings I also serve as a clerk for branch financial and membership needs, as a home teacher, and try to honor the privilege of being a priesthood holder as I spend time working with and enjoying the company of friends, neighbors, and fellow saints as we strive to live our lives in service, more closely following the teachings of our Savior.

What is the priesthood?

The Priesthood is the authority of God, granted to men upon the earth to act on his behalf in accordance with his will, to aid, assist, and serve his children as they progress through this life and accomplish that which our Father has for us. It is the authority that guides his church, our homes and my life. Show more Show less
