Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because of my parents. I am converted to the church because I have found that the principles found in our book which is called "the Book of Mormon,"

How I live my faith

I have always done service in the community and the church. I have taught sunday school lesson, organized social activities and I have participated service activities. As a church we cleaned and painted an entire elementary school. In the community we participated in a food stand. We served food to all who lived on the streets. It was really gratifying.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is an account written by the Nephites that lived in the American continent. The Nephites were named after the prophet Nephi who left Jerusalem in 600 B.C. with his family into the wilderness. By the hand of God they were guided to the land of America and established a new civilization. The book was named after one of the last prophets Mormon. His son finished writing in the book of mormon and some of his last words contained a promise. This promise entailed that ANYONE who would ask God with one simple question would receive an answer. This question is as follows: Is "the Book of Mormon," the word of God? Those who have embarked on this journey and diligently sought out an answer have found out the truth. I am one of those. As a student I really think and ponder about certain topics. I sometimes have a hard time with distinguishing between tradition and true desire. I sometimes wonder if my testimony is still built upon the testimony of my parent's however, I know that anything that encourages a person to come closer to God, must be from God. I don't believe that God tries to hide his line of communication from us but I think he wants it to be known. As a child of God I feel the influence of the Lord every time I read it and i know that anyone who reads it will feel the influence of the Lord. Show more Show less
