Hi I'm Heather

I'm a mother, wife, blogger, writer, family historian, photographer, and avid reader.

About Me

I'm a mom. My husband is a park manager. In my spare time, I love to read, take photographs, write, and do family history work.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the joy it brings me. Whenever I have hard times, I can go to the Book of Mormon or to the words of my church leaders, and they give me the strength to keep going on. They help me to find happiness every day. I am a Mormon because it gives me truth. It answers the questions that are deep inside my soul in a way that enable me to feel so much at peace. I know who I am: I am a daughter of God! I am a Mormon because I have prayed and searched many times for answers, and I have felt the Spirit of God burn in my heart. The knowledge that comes from the Spirit comes with such a surety that it becomes part of me and becomes part of how I live each day. That knowledge includes the simple truths like there is a prophet on the earth today, that God loves me, that family is eternal, and that I can live with God again.

How I live my faith

I read my scriptures and say my prayers every morning, and that sustains me for everything else I do. My goals is to fit in service everyday, even in small ways, like listening to my sister or emailing an old friend.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Absolutely! God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and so, because He loves us, He gives us prophets. Prophets help lead us and let us know what our Heavenly Father wants for us. Prophets speak for our Heavenly Father. Our world is confusing some days, and so our Heavenly Father gives us guidance for today's world through prophets. I know they speak the word of God because I have followed what they say and it has given me so much joy. Show more Show less
