Hi I'm James

I grew up in SE Idaho. I have traveled between Asia and the US for over 20 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in 4 different continents. I'm a father of 5 kids with a beautiful committed loving wife. I speak Mandarin Chinese. I like watersports, swimming, boating, wave running, skiiing, snowmobiling, hiking, running, biking, and just being outdoors. I enjoy movies as well. I served a mission in Taipei Taiwan and met many wonderful people. I have used my language abilities in my profession. I am also an entreprenuer and hold several patents.

Why I am a Mormon

I can thank my parents for first teaching me about the gospel of Jesus. Secondly, I had Sunday School teachers and seminary teachers help me understand additional concepts of faith, resurrection, repentance, and the importance of eternal life. I read the Book of Mormon as well as the bible. As I read the Book of Mormon, I felt it was true and I discovered it also further solidified my faith in the Old and New Testament of the Bible. I am convinced it is true, and work to better understand the teachings as well as help others to understand the teachings.

How I live my faith

I try to abide by the teachings in the Bible, Book of Mormon, and modern day revelation. I believe the God speaks to us in our day. he speaks to a prophet for the world, he speaks to our local leaders through the spirit, and he speaks to me for me and my family or those who I have responsibility for. I have had many different callings. I currently serve as a member of single adult/student ward bishopric, that means I help the bishop of the ward plan activities and meetings that would help the ward members. In the past, I helped young men in the scouting program and helped them to learn their responsibilities as they received the Preisthood. My most important responsibility is to provide for my family and teach them correct principles and about the love that their Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ has for them.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Mormons believe the purpose of life is to learn and grow to become worth to return and live with our Family after this life and to progress and gain eternal life. To gain eternal life is the ultimate goal and is only attainable to those who have faith in Jesus Christ and follow his commandments. It is because of Jesus' sacrifice and atonement that we have an opportunity to obtain this goal. It is there for us, but we have to take steps and actions to be worthy of the gifts He wants us to receive. Show more Show less
