Hi I'm Christian

About Me

I'm a college student with interests in Education, Theatre, and Psychology, all of which I feel are very interrelated. I'm nearing my graduation and I'm preparing to enter the "real world". I also love photography and love to take pictures of everything, but especially the wilderness. Music also plays a major influence in my life. I love to discover new music and I tend to listen to bands that most people would find weird. I have three older brothers, a little sister, and a sister-in-law. All of whom I love very much.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the LDS church, but like all members, had to gain a testimony of my own about the truth of the gospel. For me, this involved repeatedly turning to prayer and scripture study during the times of trial that arose in my life. I found a peace in the words of the prophets, both past and present, that I couldn't find anywhere else. I have had numerous experiences where I have been blessed for living in accordance with my faith in moments that many would call coincidental. But I know that it is because God exists, and He loves and cares for me. He will help me to move through whatever trial I have been given, even if He is the one that put the trial in my way.

How I live my faith

I have served in many positions in the church that have really allowed me to use my talents and to be creative. I have been in charge of committees to help plan local church activities, smaller Monday night activities, and music for Sunday services. I also have worked in the community with various theater organizations. I try to use my artistic abilities to testify of Christ, even if that's as simple as recording the beauty of a mountain on film or presenting a play about the power of change. I feel that the arts are a wonderful way to express my love of God. I think this video sums up my feelings pretty well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhLlnq5yY7k
