Hi I'm Kelly and I am a Mormon!
I was born into the church both my parents were active mormons. I spent the first twelve years of my life growing up in Oregon. After my mom and dad seperated. Two of my sisters, my mom and I moved to Keams Canyon, AZ on the Hopi Indian Reservation. After the seperation my mom became very inactive, us girls tried but little by little started to pull away. My Junior year we moved to Globe, AZ. Where I met my future husband. I am currently a mother of six boys. I love to can anything I can get my hands on. Especially strawberry jam.. I love to see the after color sitting in those jars. along with canning I love to garden. I have a very hard time walking through a nursery and something not coming home with me. Veggies or flowers something usually follows me home! When I find the time I love to quilt and scrapbook. One of my interets are horseback riding, I have always wanted to compete in barrels, and still hope to someday! This fall I will be going back to school to get my associates in General Agriculture. It should be quite fun!
Why I am a Mormon
I am Mormon because I know of the truthfullness of this gospel. I know there is a plan for us and the Lord guides us through. I can feel the spirit as a reassurance that he lives and this gospel is TRUE! I have lived without it and I don't ever want to live without again! I love to watch my boys light up as they find the truth for themselves. As I live the gospel and continue to follow I know I am on the right path. The gospel has always been true!
How I live my faith
I live my Faith daily by constant prayer, in my heart & mind! Somedays aren't easy and i want to give up. But I know if I but endure it will all be worth it. I look to help and be kind to whome ever I pass. For me its a constant service. I love to serve others and get to know the older generation and listen to thier experiences and stories. Through prayer and fasting we recieved and answer to move up to Oregon and live on my grandmas farm. I know we will make it through all trials we have. I recently serve in the primary as a teacher. I know some may be thinking you have six kids them spend your time with more kids! I love the kids! In past callings I have served in cub scouts/ scouts for the last 11 years..That I loved! I have also taught sunday school for the 12 AND 13 YR olds. I loved the chance to get to know this age group. I love that the Lord has set up visiting teachers, I get to go out with another women and visit other women. As a mom of young children, I don't get the chance to visit with these women and learn from them.
