Hi I'm Louise

I'm a wife and a mother to six awesome boys! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

There are few things that give me joy like that I feel being a wife and mother. My husband and I try each day to build our relationship - which we believe is eternal – and also to build and lift our children to become responsible, happy husbands and fathers. This job is my top priority. My husband and I also have a large extended family and we love to spend time with all of them. I’m a musician. I participate in a large choral organization in the community where I live. It helps me develop talents while teaching me and I love to learn. I also enjoy fitness and exercise which is a good thing because I have quite a sweet tooth.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and taught the valuable principles of the gospel by my parents - including living so that the Spirit of God can always be with me. This has brought such joy to my life and so I continue today, passing on those same teachings to my children. The gospel teaches me what I must do to return to live with my Father in Heaven. What I have learned foremost is that I need to trust in the Savior and understand that I can't make my goal without relying on Him by applying the Atonement and repenting when I make mistakes.

How I live my faith

I guess the answer to this question is that my faith is such a “way of life” for me. Having been a Mormon all my life, I’ve been taught what that means and it is a part of who I am. I attend my meetings. I serve in my congregation. I participate in the women’s organization (Relief Society). At home, we read scriptures and pray together. We meet together once each week (Family Home Evening) to talk about principles of the gospel. Individually, I try to pray, study scriptures, attend the temple, and serve those around me. This faith encourages me to do all these things and to improve when I know I’m not doing as much as I should.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

In the Bible, Jesus tells his disciples, "Other sheep I have, which are not of this fold them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd." John 10:16 We believe He was speaking, in part, of the people on the North American continent. The people there saw the sign of His birth - the new star - but did not actually see him in person until after His resurrection. In the Book of Mormon, Jesus tells these people that He was speaking of them to those in Jerusalem when He spokeof his other sheep. 3 Nephi 15:21 Show more Show less
