Hi I'm Aaron

I live in Utah. I spent two years in Texas. I love good music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a software engineer intern for a small developing company, and I'm studying computer science at a University. Right now I'm teaching myself how to play the acoustic guitar. In high school I sang in a show choir where we went around and performed at schools and company parties, etc. I enjoy playing sports even though I'm not at all the greatest at playing them. The outdoors have been a part of my life history, since the time I was a young teenager I was in scouts camping here and there. Later I worked at a scout camp where I had the opportunity to backpack in the back country of Yellowstone. It was at this scout camp that I gained the enjoyment in repelling off mountains.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I chose to be a part of this church is because it's true. I've studied The Book of Mormon and have acted upon it's promise, that if I asked God it was true he would manifest that unto me. I can say that He has, I know that book is true just as much as I know the Bible is of God. Joseph Smith through the power of God brought forth The Book of Mormon, Christ had said in the new Testament in the book of Matthew that by their fruits ye shall know them. Since I know that the Book of Mormon is true I know that Joseph Smith was called of God as a prophet, and that God and His Son through Joseph Smith restored the true Church of Jesus Christ. There are many religions out there that speak of Christ and teach of Christ and all have different view points. Who is right? Truth is truth and always will be truth, Joseph Smith and many others asked God what was the truth, I did, so can you. I know Christ died for my sins and that he is risen from the grave, this is His true Church, that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now my ward (or what some may call a church congregation) is being reorganized. So things are slowing getting together, but once things are running a little bit more smoothly I will be assigned certain members to watch over every month. When I say "watching over" I mean going by and visiting them each month at least once and see how they are doing. We will also leave them with a spiritual message too. As of right now that's my responsibilities in the ward, but I'm sure things will change once things are a little bit more organized. I participate in my ward's choir where we perform occasionally a hymn in our church services. Oh, I also participate in many activities, such as game nights, sport activities, service projects, etc. there just never is a void for activities in the church. Plus, since I attend a Singles ward, which is for people who are 18-30 years of age and unmarried, there is always some kind of activity going on.

Are Mormons Christians?

Absolutely, all that is taught is connected to Christ. We believe in Christ, we rely on Christ as our Savior and through his saving grace we can be perfected. We are witnesses of His name both in word and action. We believe that he suffered for our sins and died on the cross in our behalf. We also believe that he rose from the grave and broke the bands of death, so that we like him can live again after death. As a prophet who attested in The Book of Mormon, "...we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ...that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins." so it is for Mormons, we are Christians.
