Hi I'm Susan

I am a mother of 6 kids, a lover of music, a crazy cookie baker and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am so not good at writing about myself. I have the greatest job in the world and that is of being a mom. I have 6 wonderful children that bring great joy into my life. We are an imperfect family that loves, lives and learns. I love music. I love history. I love travel. And something that I never thought I'd love...I love to exercise! I even love learning about and eating healthier foods. I love to watch the sunrise and the beautiful formations that appear in the sky. I think that the greatest show that is put on the earth is right above our heads every day. I look forward to the adventures that a new day brings. Maybe not as anxiously for the tough ones, but I look forward to the lessons that I will learn through them. I love my Heavenly Father! I love my Savior Jesus Christ!

Why I am a Mormon

At first I attended this church because it is what I grew up with. Through my teenage years I saw the importance of finding out for myself why I really went and if this is what I really believed. The answers came as I opened the scriptures and opened my heart to them. As I continue to read them over and over I feel peace and a closeness with my Savior. During a very difficult time in my life I was studying the New Testament and had just finished the 4 gospels. When things became the hardest I had begun the words of Paul and I committed to spend at least 30 minutes in the scriptures each day. At first it was hard, but as I persisted every day I looked forward to my time in the scriptures. I truly felt that I had a new friend who was speaking to me, walking beside me, but more importantly, introduced me to my Savior on a level that I had never before felt. One day I will have the chance to meet Paul and thank him for helping me through the most difficult part of this trial. I will thank him for helping me understand more about the saving grace of my Savior, Jesus Christ. Every morning brings me a new day with more opportunities to learn. I am not perfect about this, but I try to embrace those opportunities as they come. I know my Savior took on Him my sins, my pains, my sorrows, my hardships, my doubts, my fears and I know He rejoices in my joys, my successes, my hopes, my efforts and that He loves me through it all. One day I will feel the wounds in His hands and in His feet and try my best to express my love and gratitude to Him. Until then I will try my best to live the way He would have me live and show that love and gratitude in who I am.

How I live my faith

I was recently released from what I consider the greatest calling! That of being the Nursery Leader. I am so grateful for the time that I shared with these little ones (ages 18 months to 3 years). Lots of surprises were always in store for me with these tender children. I have learned so many lessons of how to live my faith from watching these great examples.

Are Mormons Christians?

Oh, a resounding "YES"! Mormons are Christians! The name of our church is the first indication of that. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We believe in the Old Testament which prophecies of His coming. We believe in the New Testament where we walk the paths with Him through the words of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Paul, Peter, James, Jude and John further testify of His divinity and share his words and works. The Book of Mormon is an addition testimony of Our Savior where Nephi, Jacob, Abinadi, Alma, Mormon, Moroni and many other prophets share their testimony of Christ and His mission. The Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price are more witnesses of Christ and our belief in Him. We try to live in accordance to the way He would have us live, as He did. He is my Savior and Redeemer. I love Him with all of my heart. Show more Show less
