Hi I'm Kevin

I believe in Jesus Christ. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born into an active LDS family. I had parents and siblings that, although they occasionally struggled in various ways, both temporally and spiritually, were supportive of my building a strong testimony about the truthfulness of the Gospel and the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have always tried to stay close to the Lord by reading the scriptures regularly, communicating with my Heavenly Father through prayer, and worshipping Him at church. I am greatful for the blessings and direction I and my family have received through our faith and testimonies of the true and living church.

Why I am a Mormon

First and foremost, I am a Mormon because my parents showed me an example of the blessings of being faithful in the church. Building on that foundation, I continue as an adult to be a Mormon because of the answers that I get to life's questions and the direction I receive in making difficult spiritual and temporal choices. I love the feelings of the Holy Spirit that I receive when I know I am doing my best to live my life in accordance with the Lord's will. I am also Mormon because of the power of the Priesthood and the ordinances that allow me to live forever with my wife and kids, whom I love deeply.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not a Sunday-only proposition. It is an entire lifestyle. I live my faith through my involvement in music in the church as my congregation's choir director. I feel most comfortable expressing my testimony through song, and I try to do that as a choir director and as a member of a local LDS choir. I also support my wife and children in their activity in the church; my wife is the congregation's Young Women's president, through which she touches the lives of many teenage girls and lifts them spiritually. Her service is part of my life as well, and I feel blessed as I support her in her untiring service.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Mormons treasure the Bible as the word of God, as revealed to prophets in the Old World. It is a close companion, neither overshadowed by nor superceded by, the Book of Mormon, which provides a consistent message of the divinity of Jesus Christ and of His mission and role in our eternal progression.
