Hi I'm Amber

I am a life liver, a people lover, and a God fearing woman. I hope when I wake up in the morning the Devil says - Oh No, She's UP!

About Me

The first and most important thing about me is I am a daughter of God. I am a mother to beautiful and amazing children who inspire me and bless my life with magic & happiness. I have loved being a wife on this earth and am grateful to be sealed to my family for eternity. My husband and one of my sons has already returned to our Heavenly Father. I am especially grateful for the knowledge that I have of the gospel and our ability to be with our loved ones again. I am blessed with the best parents & siblings ever and I am so thankful for the closeness that we have in our family. I have the greatest friends who are examples to me of living Christ centered lives. This life has been an amazing, challenging, rewarding, refining journey and I pray that I will continue with grace & happiness & gratefulness to all of the precious blessings that my Heavenly Father has given me. It is true I have been through many challenges but I have also recieved more blessings than I could ever count and will be eternally grateful for the knowledge of those miracles and the growth that I have been blessed with.

Why I am a Mormon

Through the challenges I have had in this life I have grounded myself in the knowledge that my Heavenly Father loves me, there is life after this earth journey, families are forever, what we do and the knowledge we gain are part of us for always and shape who we become tomorrow and for eternity. Our actions, relationships and beliefs make us who we are. Then who am I and who do I want to become? I hope I love with ever fiber of my being, and feel my Saviors love. I hope I forgive without exception, and am truly forgiven for my faults and weaknesses. I hope that I listen with an open heart, and always hear the Spirit whisper to me. I hope I accomplish my goals, gain tons of knowledge, experience different cultures and lands, and touch my children’s lives through my example. The amazing thing is that, everything I do has purpose and really everything I do eventually blesses me. The gospel is my ROCK! "There is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock." (Exodus 33:21) Although my faith has grown from my life experiences, I was blessed to be born into a family that already had the gospel in it. My mother & fathers families have been members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 6 generations back on each side. I was blessed with the gift of Faith and believing has always been easy for me, I just KNOW the gospel is true. The thing I had to learn was that sometimes it isn't easy for people to believe, that we all have different gifts - some have the gift of knowledge, or of healing and so on. (1 Chorinthians 12:7-11) We each have to connect to the truth with our gifts in our own way. That is a good thing because we are all different and unique. I am so grateful that I have the gospel in my life and that it has always been there. There is nothing that can replace the true peace the gospel brings. I will be eternally grateful to my parents for choosing to be married in the temple and raise their family in a gospel centered home.

How I live my faith

I am so imperfect and I have so many things to strengthen in myself and to learn on this journey but if I remind myself always that I am Christ’s hands on earth then I point myself in a direction to accomplish good things. I think about Christ’s soft voice and I choose not to yell and I am blessed with peace in my home. I think about Christ’s love for me and I look at each person I encounter with an eternal perspective. I am blessed feeling value in myself because I can see value in others. I think of the endless service Christ gave on this earth and I reach out to others, then I am blessed because I am surrounded with people who love me. I think of the scripture, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." and I KNOW I can do anything that is God's will. I know my faith will increase as I follow Christ’s example, and I will have happiness in my home, peace in my heart, and make the world a better place by my having been here. That is how I live my faith – moment by moment, day by day.

Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you in your life?

LOVE: In Matt. 22:37-40 it tells us that the first great commandment is to love God and the second is to love our nieghbor. On these two commandments hang all of the law. When I have love in my heart for my children, my family and for all others I am able to move forward in my life with peace. Living with peace is living with the spirit in my life. I accomplish more and regret less when I am filled with love. When my baby was born 18 years ago with problems at birth it seemed everyone had an answer as to what we should do with him or for him. I expected a miracle and thought all would be healed but the voice in my heart said over & over, "Love him, Love him, Love him." That is what I did. It was a great lesson for me. He lived 9 months & 6 days and I have never regretted a day because I followed that still small voice and loved him every day. I love the quote by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf "What we love determines what we seek. What we seek determines what we think and do. What we think and do determines who we are—and who we will become." Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

At times in life you can be surrounded with people who love you and still feel utterly alone. Maybe you are going through a unique experience that others may not understand, or maybe you feel it is your responsibility to maintain your composure to be the solid person for everyone around you that leaves you feeling like there is no place to lean. I can not explain the atonement and it took me years to really grasp the depth of its meaning in my life but I can explain how it makes me feel. I knew it meant we could be forgiven of sins, what I did not understand was that, it could heal every sadness our hearts experienced. I seem to be the person that stands strong for others while they choose to break trust, overcome addictions, and damage their family. I have experienced the death of a husband (age 37) and the death of a child. I have had a child suffer from traumatic brain injury, a baby born at 25 weeks, a child get trampled by a horse and many other hardships. Life is FULL of really hard things. The atonement brings peace into my heart. The atonement has the power to heal every affliction of mortality, from sorrow to insecurity to sin. When I think about my Savior suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane surrounded by his disciples, but alone, I know I can lean on my Heavenly Father just like He did and receive the comfort and strength that I need to overcome any weakness or hardship in my life. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." (Philippians 4:13) Show more Show less
